My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic is the newest reincarnation of the My Little Pony franchise. In this series, Twilight Sparkle (a unicorn) has been sent to Ponyville to learn about the magic and power of friendship. It's a cute show with a good morale and amazing friendships between many characters.
Twilight Sparkle is a unicorn with strong magic. She has been practicing under the guise of Princess Celestia, the ruler of Equestria. She has learned a lot from her friends and faithful companion, Spike the dragon.
Fluttershy is a Pegasus who isn’t a very strong flyer. She takes care of the animals that live in Ponyville, making sure that they are happy and safe at all times. She’s a bit of a quiet pony, but everything she does say is often things that need to be said or heard.
How I Made It
After making my Spike costume, my girls wanted to dress as their favorite ponies from the show. I didn’t have to make too much for these simple costumes, just alter a few things.
Twilight’s dress was purchased from Target, and the ears and horn were made by Yaya Han . I used finely cut polar fleece for her tail, which I tacked in place.
Fluttershy’s dress was purchased off eBay. I removed the patch that was on the chest and sewed three felt butterflies in it’s place. I crafted the wings from craft foamie and sewed them into the dress as well. Her tail was made from finely cut polar fleece and also tacked into place.
