Snow White (Casual/Modern Version) - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Debuted: Birthday Con 2013

Awards: Most Recognizable

Skit: N/A

Snow White has quickly grown to become my favorite Princess. In the process I have decided to create every version of her outfit that I can find (and that I love). When I found a cute modern version of the Princesses on DeviantArt created by Viria13 I just had to recreate the design!

 How I Made It

I altered a few things here and there, but the outfit was mostly another "closet cosplay", meaning that I had most of the materials and just had to toss them together to create the right look. I bought the skirt from Valerie Bryant on Etsy because I loved her signature heart-shaped waistline and thought it would be the perfect Snow White skirt to complete the look I was after. The apple necklace needed a new, longer chain, which I quickly remedied. The vest got the most alterations done with red ribbon hand-sewn around the armholes and three new buttons added to the front. The buttons are actually two buttons sewn together--a red one on top of a gold one. I also created a small, blue bird ring to wear with the cosplay, since Snow White is famous for her forest friends always being near.

I wore the look to my birthday party (the theme was casual/modern Disney Princesses) and wore a red headband crown instead of her classic red ribbon headband for the event. Everyone loved the look so much that I was awarded Most Recognizable! For the photo shoot I opted for the classic red ribbon headband.

The entire outfit is super comfortable and fun to wear. I can also wear it any place I desire and not look as though I am in costume, however a few people may figure out the Princess reference! I also love the short, pixie wig that goes with this look.
